Swifties worldwide are pushing back against a daring conspiracy theory proposed by MMA fighter Paige VanZant.
In a recent episode of her podcast, “A Kick— Love Story,” VanZant, alongside her husband Austin Vanderford, delved into the whirlwind romance of pop sensation Taylor Swift and NFL player Travis Kelce.
However, her opinions have not resonated well with fans of the singer.
VanZant boldly declared, “I think that the Taylor Swift, Travis Kelce ‘love story,’ I believe it is 100 percent fake.”
Despite the potential backlash from Swifties, VanZant confidently stated, “Come for me, Swifties. You know what? I’ve got UFC fans coming for me. I think I can handle the Swifties.”
The OnlyFans content creator presented her conspiracy theory, asserting that Swift and Kelce’s relationship is a mere publicity stunt.
According to VanZant, the strategic move benefits both the NFL and Swift by engaging a diverse audience in the sport.
She argued, “Think of the wives that are buying Travis Kelce jerseys now. It’s a huge publicity play on both fronts…There’s so much strategic stuff that’s happening.”
VanZant also speculated that the NFL’s temporary change of its X (formerly Twitter) bio to “NFL (Taylor’s Version)” was orchestrated to boost Swift’s re-recorded album sales.
She even questioned the authenticity of viral clips featuring Swift cheering on Kelce at his NFL games, describing them as “fake” and “phony.”
Expressing her views on Instagram, VanZant wrote in the caption, “There. I said it, and I mean it 😂.”
However, her followers did not hesitate to voice their opinions in the comments section.
One person countered, “Seems like YOU are the one looking for publicity! There I said it! 😂😂😂.”
Another Instagram user expressed disappointment, stating, “I’ve loved you and followed you for years, but I’m unfollowing after this one. Do some research before making claims like this, please because Taylor would never 🙄.”
Amid the controversy, someone else pointed out, “She’s a billionaire that tours the globe; he’s a multi-millionaire that has two championships in one of the world’s biggest sports leagues… What do they possibly have to gain from this?”
