From Fandom to Infamy: Chiefs Superfan’s Shocking Journey in ‘Where Wolf’

ESPN is set to reveal the captivating story that unfolded behind the scenes in the Chiefs Kingdom.

Scheduled for release on Monday, Nov. 20, “Where Wolf: The Search for ChiefsAholic” is the latest addition to ESPN’s “SC Featured” series, promising an in-depth exploration of the extraordinary transformation of Xaviar Babudar, widely recognized as “ChiefsAholic,” from an avid Kansas City Chiefs superfan to an accused bank robber.

Watch the newly released trailer below for a glimpse into this intriguing documentary.

The 40-minute “Where Wolf” takes its audience on a riveting journey into Babudar’s life, a fervent football enthusiast whose alleged criminal activities sent shockwaves across the nation.

In a rare occurrence, Babudar, speaking through his attorney, breaks his silence from jail, responding to extensive questions posed by ESPN’s Elizabeth Merrill, one of the documentary’s key reporters.

The documentary’s release strategically precedes the Kansas City Chiefs vs. Philadelphia Eagles matchup on “Monday Night Football,” offering fans an immersive experience and featuring insights, possibly even confessions, from the man himself, “ChiefsAholic.”

Elizabeth Merrill, commenting on the challenges faced during the year-long investigation, stated, “We’ve been reporting this story for almost a year, and although ChiefsAholic had a huge online presence, extracting even the most basic information about him was a challenge.

So, when his attorney agreed to send him a list of our questions in September, we felt as if it was somewhat of a breakthrough. Babudar wouldn’t answer questions about his case, but he did paint a picture of a man who got caught up in his own superfan persona.”

ESPN has chosen to exclusively premiere “Where Wolf: The Search for ChiefsAholic” on the ESPN+ streaming platform.

Prepare for an unprecedented look into the intersection of fandom and infamy in this revealing documentary.
