Travis Kelce recently spilled the beans on the extravagant Christmas gifts he and quarterback Patrick Mahomes showered upon their Kansas City Chiefs teammates in 2023.
Speaking on the latest episode of his podcast, “New Heights,” alongside his brother Jason Kelce, the Philadelphia Eagles center, the 34-year-old Chiefs tight end shared the details of the generous holiday gestures.
Mahomes, known for his quarterback prowess, treated the entire Chiefs offensive line to personalized electric golf carts, each adorned with the player’s name and number.
According to Travis, Mahomes dubbed the sleek rides as “pretty sweet.” However, the quarterback, wary of the powerful machines, made a quick exit when handing them over, as some players wasted no time pushing the carts to speeds of 35 miles per hour. The team later shared a confirming video on Instagram, captioned, “QB1 took care of the guys who keep him clean.”
Taking inspiration from Mahomes, Travis veered away from the team’s traditional gift exchange and surprised each teammate with velour jumpsuits designed by himself and luxury sportswear designer Daniel Patrick.
In a humorous exchange with his brother Jason, who wasn’t initially a fan of velour, Travis playfully stated, “I got you one too.” Jason, appreciating the gesture, laughed it off, emphasizing that he’d like anything from his brother.
Meanwhile, Jason Kelce provided insights into the Philadelphia Eagles’ Christmas celebrations, highlighting a white elephant gift exchange within the offensive line.
The most sought-after gift turned out to be a flamethrower, sparking jokes from Travis about going to war.
Eagles guard Cameron Jurgens emerged as the proud owner of the fiery gift, with plans to visit the Kelce household for some flamethrowing fun.
Jason also reminisced about past gifts from Eagles quarterbacks, including Jordans, an expensive watch, and a Louis Vuitton duffle bag, which remain his favorites.
Travis spent his Christmas Day on the field, albeit with a disappointing loss against the Las Vegas Raiders, with a score of 20-14.
However, his festive spirit was still evident as he left Arrowhead Stadium hand-in-hand with his pop star girlfriend, Taylor Swift, as captured in a heartwarming photo shared by Kansas City Star photojournalist Nick Wagner on Instagram. Wagner captioned the post, “Spent my Christmas waiting for these two lovebirds.”
