The Kansas City Chiefs are taking a breather with a bye weekend, and star tight end Travis Kelce is making the most of the break by jetting off to Argentina to catch Taylor Swift’s concert in South America.
News of Kelce’s overseas adventure surfaced through entertainment site Pop Base, confirming the swirling speculation about whether the top NFL tight end would embark on an Argentinian escapade to join the pop sensation, rumored to be his romantic interest.
Entertainment Tonight also jumped on the news of Travis Kelce’s impromptu trip.
The decision seemed to be a spontaneous one, as hinted by Kelce himself during the New Heights podcast he co-hosts with his brother, Jason Kelce.
When prodded about his plans, Travis nonchalantly responded, “Not really. I might just say f— it and just go somewhere nice, I don’t know. My skin’s getting real pale, so I gotta go somewhere sunny.”
Jason pressed further, asking, “Somewhere south?” to which Travis playfully quipped, “Closer to the equator.”
The banter continued with Jason teasing, “South of the equator?” and Travis responding with laughter.
Swift is set to kick off a series of three shows in Buenos Aires, having already sold an impressive 220,000 tickets for the South American leg of her tour.
Following this, she’ll grace Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, for performances over the following weekend before settling in São Paulo for post-Thanksgiving shows.
Whether she’ll linger near the Equator for the rest of the month remains uncertain.
Despite recent quiet moments between Kelce and Swift in the public eye, with the last public appearance together being at Kelce’s game against the Chargers on October 22, sources report that they spent Halloween together discreetly after Kelce and the Chiefs returned from a game in Denver.
The couple managed to stay away from prying cameras during the festive occasion.
Kelce, along with his teammates, recently flew to Germany for a game against the Dolphins, leaving Swift at her New York residence.
However, she extended an invitation to the wives and girlfriends of several Chiefs for a game-watching party, with Patrick Mahomes’ wife, Brittany, among the attendees.
In October, Kelce and his rumored flame spent a weekend in NYC, making cameo appearances on Saturday Night Live and attracting photographers as they exited the after-party.
Kelce’s jaunt to Argentina promises to be a brief one, considering the NFL star’s recent return from Europe, where he showcased his active passport.
