In the midst of scoring touchdowns for the Kansas City Chiefs, Travis Kelce is dedicating his efforts to give back to the community he calls home.
The star tight end has collaborated with Kodiak Cakes to generously donate 25,000 meals to students in Kansas City.
Partnering with the non-profit after-school program Operation Breakthrough, Kelce and Kodiak Cakes aim to provide hot breakfasts to those in need.
Having invested in the food brand Kodiak Cakes back in 2022, Kelce, at 34, has shown a commitment to promoting protein-packed, whole grain breakfast options.
Furthermore, his involvement with Operation Breakthrough dates back several years through Eighty-Seven & Running, a foundation he established in 2015, focusing on mentoring underserved youth.
Donna Kelce, Travis’s mother, also contributed to the cause by donating proceeds from her cookie bake sale at Arrowhead Stadium in December.
Expressing his enthusiasm for the collaboration, Kelce stated, “Joining forces with my friends over at Kodiak to fuel the Operation Breakthrough families is a total privilege.
Alongside Kodiak, a brand I love, we will be making a meaningful difference in the day-to-day life of hundreds of Kansas City kids, and I couldn’t be more excited to make this happen.”
Operation Breakthrough, known for its programs catering to children from 6 weeks old through high school, will receive a variety of options, including breakfast bars, granola bars, pancakes, oatmeal, and more from Kodiak.
The meals will be promptly donated, as confirmed by PEOPLE. Additionally, Kodiak, with Zac Efron as its chief brand officer, will stock the pantries at Operation Breakthrough locations with snacks for the students.
Despite his achievements, such as a recent Saturday Night Live hosting gig in March 2023, a cameo in October, and a newfound romance with pop star Taylor Swift, Kelce remains true to himself, according to his teammate Patrick Mahomes.
Mahomes emphasized that Kelce, who continues to treat everyone with genuine kindness, remains unchanged by fame. As Mahomes puts it, “Travis has always been Travis. He’s still Travis Kelce.”
