New details have emerged regarding the alleged physical altercation involving Kansas City Chiefs’ wide receiver, Justyn Ross, and his girlfriend.
This incident has put the young NFL player in a troubling spotlight, resulting in his arrest and placement on the Commissioner exempt list.
Reports suggest that Ross was involved in a domestic violence incident, during which he is alleged to have thrown his girlfriend to the ground and damaged her car with a knife, as reported by TMZ.
According to the report, “Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Justyn Ross allegedly roughed up his girlfriend, broke her stuff … and then knifed her Mercedes during an altercation that led to his arrest last week.”
The incident reportedly occurred after Ross discovered that his girlfriend was cheating on him.
According to official documents, the woman informed the police that after Ross had seen her phone, he confronted her, pushed her, threw her to the floor, and even began throwing objects at her. The documents also indicated that the woman had a “small scratch” on her hand as a result of the altercation.
In a disturbing turn of events, Ross allegedly threw and broke various objects before using a knife to damage his girlfriend’s Mercedes.
The documents also mention that two neighbors claimed to have witnessed Ross pushing the woman and running a knife across her vehicle.
The entire situation is a significant setback for Justyn Ross and the Kansas City Chiefs. Ross, who is in the second year of his NFL career, was already struggling to secure a place on the team’s depth chart. This recent incident further jeopardizes his position and could potentially lead to his release from the Chiefs.
Kansas City has largely remained quiet regarding the matter. However, when the initial news broke, head coach Andy Reid revealed that Ross would at least be allowed to “practice” with the team, according to Fox 4.
Reid stated, “We’re taking in all the information and have been. He’s back here, he will work today (Wednesday), and we’ll just take it from there. Other than that I don’t really have any information other than what we are gathering.”
As of now, Ross is not actively playing for the team, and it remains uncertain whether he will return to professional football in the future.
