Mahomes Embraces Taylor Swift as Part of Chiefs Kingdom: A Quarterback’s Perspective

Ahead of the Kansas City Chiefs’ faceoff against the Las Vegas Raiders on Monday, December 25, Patrick Mahomes, the team’s star quarterback, shared insights about the presence of a high-profile guest expected at Arrowhead Stadium for Christmas Day – none other than Chiefs player Travis Kelce’s girlfriend, Taylor Swift.

In a preview of CBS Mornings’ forthcoming interview with Mahomes, Nate Burleson delved into the team’s reaction to the highly publicized relationship.

Mahomes revealed, “At first, I feel like everybody kind of stayed away, just let him do what he was doing. And then he started bringing Taylor around, and you realize how cool of a person she was and she is. So for us, I mean, it was a couple of jokes here and there in the beginning.”

Despite the initial jests, Swift and Kelce’s relationship has endured for five months, with the pop sensation attending six games this season, wholeheartedly supporting Kelce and the Chiefs.

Mahomes addressed the skeptics, stating, “Now, she’s just part of Chiefs Kingdom, and she’s part of the team.”

He reassured that for Kelce, nothing has changed – “For me, it’s just Travis, man. And he’s lucky enough to be with a great girl and a great woman. It’s been cool to kind of interact with her and see.”

In addition to Swift’s integration into Chiefs Kingdom, Mahomes commended her budding friendship with his wife, Brittany Mahomes.

“It’s cool that she’s embraced Brittany, and they’ve built a friendship as well,” he expressed.

The quarterback appreciates Swift’s dedication to her craft and believes it enhances her relationship with Kelce, asserting, “She’s top tier of her profession, and to see how she drives and she becomes that.

It’s really cool to hear about and see… I’m glad she’s the person that she is. That’s why I think her and Travis match so well.”

Despite the attention surrounding Swift and Kelce, Mahomes remains focused on the Chiefs’ primary goal – winning.

With a chance to secure the AFC West title and a playoff berth against the Raiders, Mahomes remains unwavering in his determination.

Reflecting on the team’s offensive struggles this season, he dispelled any notions of panic, stating, “There isn’t.”

Whether or not they clinch the No. 1 seed, Mahomes exudes confidence, emphasizing the importance of taking each game as it comes:

“Everything’s out in front of us… It’s just more about how can you find a way to win the game ahead of you and let the rest take care of itself.”
