In the Spotlight: Brittany Mahomes Addresses Haters Amidst Chiefs’ Triumph

Things are on an upswing for Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, having broken a potential three-game losing streak with a recent victory over the New England Patriots.

However, his wife, Brittany Mahomes, finds herself contending with an increased influx of online trolls.

On December 19, Brittany delivered a strong message through her Instagram Stories, expressing her frustration:

“Recently there has been A LOT more rude ass people on here, Waaaay more than normal… I’m not sure where y’all came from, but you should probably go back to where you came from… please.”

The co-owner of the Kansas City Current, who has two children with Mahomes, Sterling (2) and Bronze (1), did not specify the cause of the sudden surge in negativity.

Some speculate it might be related to her growing friendship with Taylor Swift, who is dating Mahomes’ teammate and close friend, Travis Kelce, thereby thrusting Brittany into the media spotlight.

Nevertheless, Brittany’s message coincides with Mahomes receiving a $50,000 fine for criticizing referees after the Chiefs’ loss to the Buffalo Bills.

The Chiefs, like several other teams, have faced controversial calls from referees this season.

Mahomes’ reaction to a legitimate offensive offsides penalty and his subsequent explanation drew criticism on social media.

In the midst of Mahomes’ passionate response, Brittany stood by her husband.

Before Mahomes retracted his comments on the referee’s call, she shared a photo on her Instagram Stories, labeling the ref as the “MVP.”

After Mahomes expressed regret, Brittany posted photos from Arrowhead, affirming her support: “Riding with 15 always ❤️.” However, the comments on that post were filled with hateful messages.

Brittany also expressed support for Taylor Swift against the ‘Dads, Brads, and Chads’ bothered by her presence at Kelce’s games.

Despite being in separate suites during the Chiefs’ loss to the Bills, Brittany and Swift were seen together at Gillette Stadium.

After the Chiefs’ victory, Brittany shared a photo of a cookie on her Instagram Stories referencing Swift’s comments about her visibility during games.

Kelce addressed the haters on his “New Heights” podcast, praising the positive response Swift received in New England.

He acknowledged some negativity from “Brads and Chads” but emphasized the overwhelming support from fans.

Looking ahead, the Chiefs (9-5) are set to face the Las Vegas Raiders (6-8) on Christmas Day at 1 p.m. ET.

Both Brittany and Swift are expected to be present at Arrowhead, cheering on their respective partners.

This game is crucial for the Chiefs, as a victory would secure the AFC West title and a spot in the playoffs.

Mahomes is focused on winning all three remaining matchups, with Kelce noting his unprecedented dedication.

As the season concludes, Mahomes aims to maintain this focus into the playoffs.
